Even on a rainy and overcast day, the views from Harold’s Square are impressive and construction is moving quickly. Harold’s Square plans to open in summer 2020 and will add to the vibrancy of the Downtown Ithaca Commons, renovating an historic building and replacing several vacant, single story buildings with a mix of commercial, retail and residential uses. The building contains 78 apartment units comprised of 1- and 2-bedrooms and studios. Floors two-five include 53,000 SF of Class A and Boutique office space. There is also 14,400 SF of ground floor retail space in the building. Harold’s Square also features many energy saving features including electric heat pumps, ENERGY STAR appliances, off-site solar, and high efficiency water, which will help meet County-wide carbon emissions reduction goals.
The Ithaca Times published an article featuring David Lubin, the driving force behind Harold’s Square and the Chainworks District project on South Hill. Read it HERE.
