Canopy by Hilton Ithaca Downtown Now Open!

Canopy by Hilton Ithaca Downtown is a Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency (TCIDA) supported 7-story hotel project located at 324 E State St. on the site of the former Strand Theater in Downtown Ithaca. The project was submitted under the Community Investment Incentive Tax Abatement Program (CIITAP) and new property taxes will be phased in over ten years. The hotel will create 47 direct jobs over three years and anticipates generating $1,212,784 in room tax revenues.

Canopy, a new boutique lifestyle hotel brand from Hilton, is centered on a neighborhood-driven theme of locality, culture, and comfort. Canopy Ithaca is one of only 12 canopy hotels currently open throughout the U.S. and abroad. Canopy locations include Reykjavik, Iceland, Zagreb, Croatia, Chengdu, China, Washington DC, and Portland, OR.

The project participates in the Hilton Worldwide sustainability measurement program known as “lightstay” which includes continuous operations improvement projects in energy monitoring and reduction; water usage reduction and waste management and diversion and also incorporated other sustainable elements in the construction.

Welcome to Downtown Ithaca!
